This interactive piece features a swing commonly found in playgrounds. Each time the rider rocks the swing, an acceleration sensor on the seat triggers a recorded singing voice, playing one note at a time in response to the movement. As the rider continues to swing, the sounds connect and gradually form a melody. With more swings and riders, the sounds from each swing overlap at different times, creating a choral song.
In this work, the artist, performer, and viewer all hold equal roles. The aim is not to create music with a pre-established harmony, but to allow music to emerge through the accidental encounters and partings of people brought together by the swings.

*This piece is displayed on the 2nd floor of the University Chinretsukan Gallery.
