Putting together multiple generative virtual views and structures, to know a site examines the frameworks and aesthetics of how we access digitally created and captured sites. How might we access multiple perspectives and dimensions of site at once? This exploratory art game questions qualities of the architectural and of place-making practices, continuously recombining and reconstituting the generated environment and views through the user’s in-game movement, and challenging the stability of conceptions of body and environment. The work leverages multiple dimensions of visuality and aurality to gesture toward the ideological, technological, and political frameworks and processes by which we conceptualize our understandings of space and site, offering a provocation to interrogate the structures and systems around us.
